St. Nacho's

St. Nacho's - Z.A. Maxfield This is definitely a 4.5 star read. It was so close to 5 stars, but there were a couple of small issues I had with the story. My favourite part of the book was definitely the couple, Cooper and Sean. I think they were perfect for each other.

For fans of a book with a lot of angst, this would probably be for them. Cooper, the protagonist, has his issues. Those issues aren't easily fixed, and they don't magically go away at the end of the book. I will admit, I hate when a character is magically cured at the end after all the angst because I always like to think there is more work to be done, and that the MC's can come together even more during the healing process. Their love was intense throughout the book, and it wasn't overly cheesy. It was beautiufl, real, and emotional.

While I was reading this, I felt the emotion of the story. Even during the separation I didn't feel like things were completely over. But I will admit, I wish the separation had been shorter. It was necessary and all that, but it has to be done very well for me to not take a half mark off for it. This is just one of those cases it didn't get through.

Another thing... not really a thing, but I didn't like Jordan. Yes, he was an important character and he had his shit to deal with. But for me, I couldn't find anything I liked about him. For a short period of time, I was worried it would become his and Coopers book and not Cooper and Sean. It was obvious - to me anyway - that he wanted Cooper. But Cooper was already in love with Sean, which again, was obvious.

I'm really glad Kelly recommended this book to me. It was just what I was looking for. And I recommend it to fans of books about healing and love.
